Job Description
Oversee daily administration of tax filings for assigned legal entities, including distributions of tax remittances according to tax jurisdiction guidelines.
Manage client delivery across Tax filing Shared Services and work to mitigate escalations.
Respond to Client and Client Team inquiries.
Strong reconciliation skills (tax codes and frequencies)
Experience working with Canadian Taxing Agencies (CRA, RQ, Provinces)
Responsible for working agency notices to completion
Responsible for client facing work and client management from a tax filing standpoint
Responsible for completing year end filings, and amended filings as per advised schedule
Ability to identify and resolve escalations or complex issues with strong emphasis on associated patterns, trends, and root cause analysis.
Identifies possible process improvements
Setting up company in the tax system
Payroll System to Tax Filing system integration testing
Bank testing (both internally and with external client)
Liaison with Payroll client teams and clients
Requirements:
3-5 years Canadian payroll and/or Canadian payroll tax
SME on Canadian Taxation from a filing/reporting/remittance perspective
Ability to Multitask and prioritize without supervision
Intermediate Excel knowledge including tables, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
Self-starter that is well organized
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Occasional evening work to meet daily deadlines
