Role: Release Train Engineer
W2 ROLE
Location: Atlanta, GA
**Agile Release Train (ART) Leadership & Facilitation** - Act as the leader for the ART, orchestrating **Program Increment (PI) Planning** to align teams with business objectives. - Manage cross-team dependencies, synchronize deliverables, and ensure timely execution of the release train. - Facilitate ART ceremonies (e.g., Scrum of Scrums, PI System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops). **IT Governance & Compliance** - Serve as the **development lead for IT governance**, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. - Integrate governance checkpoints (e.g., security reviews, compliance audits) into the Agile workflow without disrupting team velocity. - Maintain alignment with enterprise architecture and IT strategy. **Release Management** - Oversee end-to-end release planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring alignment with business timelines. - Manage risks related to release scope, quality, and dependencies, escalating critical issues to stakeholders. - Coordinate with DevOps and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and post-release support. **Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Alignment** - Partner with **Business stakeholders, ITP s EPO (Enterprise Project Office), and directors** to translate strategic goals into ART priorities. - Report progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with enterprise portfolios. - Negotiate trade-offs between scope, timeline, and resources to meet business needs. **Model Adoption & Continuous Improvement** - Champion the SAFe (or adopted Agile) framework, refining processes to balance agility with governance requirements. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the ART (e.g., retrospectives, Lean-Agile maturity assessments). - Train and mentor teams on Agile practices, tools, and governance integration. **Risk & Dependency Management** - Maintain a **risk register** for the ART, addressing IT governance, compliance, and delivery risks. - Resolve systemic impediments (e.g., resource bottlenecks, cross-divisional conflicts) and escalate unresolved issues. **Metrics & Reporting** - Track and communicate ART performance metrics (e.g., PI predictability, velocity, release burndown). - Ensure governance dashboards reflect compliance status, audit readiness, and risk mitigation progress.
