Job Description:
The Automation & Manufacturing Technical Support Specialist provides technical support to ongoing operations, focusing on manufacturing and process automation systems. The role acts as a technical resource for operations teams, ensuring instrumentation and automation systems are properly designed, maintained, and functioning to meet production requirements. The position involves troubleshooting, process analysis, technical guidance, and support for projects, process improvements, and equipment optimization.
Responsibilities:
The Automation & Manufacturing Technical Support Specialist provides technical support to ongoing operations, focusing on manufacturing and process automation systems. The role acts as a technical resource for operations teams, ensuring instrumentation and automation systems are properly designed, maintained, and functioning to meet production requirements. The position involves troubleshooting, process analysis, technical guidance, and support for projects, process improvements, and equipment optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and process automation systems.
- Support resolution of equipment breakdowns and quality issues within manufacturing suites.
- Conduct troubleshooting and technical analyses on manufacturing equipment and automation systems, including PI data analysis and code review/troubleshooting.
- Assist with tech transfers, process improvement initiatives, and project support as required.
- Perform work safely while meeting all training requirements and regulatory standards.
- Complete change request lot assessments to support lot release activities.
- Review SOPs, Functional Specifications, and work instructions to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
- Stay current on assigned training activities and maintain technical competency.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Biotechnology, Automation, or a related technical field preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in technical support, process automation, or manufacturing systems preferred.
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations and automation systems in a regulated environment is an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and process automation systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze equipment and automation issues effectively.
- Experience with PI data analysis and review of automation code preferred.
- Knowledge of cGMP and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Good communication skills for reporting issues, documenting findings, and providing technical guidance.
- Proactive learning mindset to remain up to date with processes, procedures, and training requirements.
