Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our team as a contractor. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in scripting, infrastructure configuration, and enterprise IT security with at least a decade of hands-on experience. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining, securing, and automating both server and client environments across hybrid infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, modify, and maintain scripts using PowerShell, SQL, Python, and MS Batch for server and client infrastructure automation and reporting.
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server operating systems and associated roles/features.
Apply and enforce security best practices across platforms, including OS hardening, authentication, group management, app scanning, and network segmentation.
Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, and configuration files in YAML, JSON, and XML.
Administer Microsoft SCCM or InTune environments to manage user endpoints, object collection policies, and overall device lifecycle.
Support and configure Linux or BSD server platforms, applying best practices for performance and security.
Manage Active Directory and Entra ID environments, including design and application of Group Policies.
Support and troubleshoot business applications hosted in cloud-native environments.
Collaborate with networking teams to ensure proper VLANs, subnets, and route table configurations.
Independently resolve complex technical issues with strong logical troubleshooting capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in scripting with PowerShell, SQL, Python, and batch files.
10+ years of hands-on Windows Server configuration and support.
10+ years applying security best practices in enterprise IT environments.
5+ years using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible) with YAML/JSON/XML.
5+ years administering SCCM or Intune for workstation and policy management.
5+ years supporting and configuring Linux/BSD servers.
5+ years managing Active Directory or Entra ID, and GPOs.
5+ years supporting cloud-native business applications.
Basic knowledge of networking: protocols, VLANs, subnets, route tables.
Proven track record of self-motivation and logical troubleshooting success across a 10-year technical career.
Preferred Skills:
Certifications in Microsoft, Red Hat, or Kubernetes-related technologies.
Prior experience with hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
