Description:
Site Quality Engineer
The Site Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with contractual and local quality standards throughout all phases of site/field operations, from civil, mechanical, and electrical erection to commissioning. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control, and ensuring governance to management systems, coordinating inspections, and driving adherence to project quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Be the liaison with the Project Quality Managers
Review and interpret contractual and local regulations applicable to site quality
Ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and erection documentation (drawings, procedures, etc.) are in place before activities commence.
Evaluate Contractor Quality Plans for alignment with Project Quality Plans and customer specifications.
Verify that inspections and testing during erection and commissioning are conducted, documented, and validated per approved ITP sequences.
Oversee the proper preparation, compilation, and submission of final quality documentation to customers, third parties, and regulatory authorities.
Track the completion system at the site, providing an overview of inspection status, certifications, and outstanding work (including punch lists).
Verify that all testing and measurement equipment at the site is calibrated, properly documented, and compliant with certification standards.
Assess overall quality performance at site
Identify, report and manage non-conformance
Ensure Cost of poor quality is reported
Key Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control as well as Process Management/System for Construction and Commissioning.
Strong track record in Change Management, with experience in managing internal projects/programs within large and complex organizations.
Education & Industry Expertise:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
EPC, Power or Energy industry experience required.
Skills & Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with construction codes and standards.
Proven test coordination experience.
Proficiency in completion systems and computer skills.
Competencies & Soft Skills:
High level of rigor, precision, and attention to detail in work execution.
Effective communication skills, with a results-driven and solution-oriented mindset.
Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while demonstrating openness and strong listening skills.
Language:
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Education:
Bachelor in Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)
5+ years of experience in Quality process Assurance/Control and Management/System for Construction, Installation and commissioning.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the quality assurance of various projects, starting from the civil activities to the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment.
Act as the eyes, ears, and executioner of quality control activities at the site.
Establish project quality plans and ensure compliance with customer requirements, company policies, guidelines, and expectations.
Oversee subcontractors' and client personnel's compliance with quality standards.
Prepare comprehensive reports and manage non-compliances and non-conformances by coordinating with various functions.
Expectations:
Ability to translate office quality components to field operations.
Communicate effectively with customers, leaders, and field personnel.
Work in a hybrid role, requiring both on-site field presence and office responsibilities in client location.
Engage with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and manage non-conformances.
Requirements:
Experience in construction or high voltage projects, preferably in oil and gas, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects.
Field experience is mandatory; manufacturing backgrounds may not align with the role's needs.
Educational background preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. -Consideration given to candidates with relevant technical knowledge and certifications.
Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Experience in managing subcontractors and field activities.
Travel Requirement:
Up to 40% travel to various sites as required.
Key Qualities:
A blend of white-collar and blue-collar experience, with the ability to interface with both field teams and office personnel.
Strong presence and the ability to build relationships with internal and external partners.
Comfortable in a dynamic environment, handling both on-site challenges and office-based planning and reporting.
