Job Details
One of CEI's largest Telecommunications clients is seeking a RF Field technician to join their growing organization!
- Client/Industry: Telecommunications
- Job Title: RF Field technician
- Location: Long Island City, New York
- Work Schedule: Full-time, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
- Work Location: 100% onsite, Travel Position.
- Vehicle: Must have valid license
- Assignment Duration: (6+ months)
- Training Duration: 3 weeks before independent work
- Interview: 1-hour onsite interview
- Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour
- W2 Employment Only – No Corp to Corp / C2C arrangements.
- Expected potential for contract extension(s) and/or conversion to Full-Time/Permanent Employment.
- Optional benefits available during contract (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k)
Qualifications:
- Associate degree In an IT related Field and 3-7 years of experience in RF communications, wireless systems, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of RF interference, LMR, LTE, GPS, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in computer networking (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls).
- Hands-on experience with Motorola communications systems and diagnostic tools.
- Electronics training (2 years technical trade/military school) + 2 years field experience.
- Strong communication, self-management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond to after-hours service calls.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with P25 systems and two-way radios.
- Familiarity with analog equipment and legacy LMR systems.
- Background in wired/wireless communication systems (public safety or commercial).
- Knowledge of public safety operations and emergency communication protocols.
