The Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization?s environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations. This role plays a critical part in reducing environmental risks, implementing sustainability initiatives, and maintaining certifications such as ISO 14001. The Environmental Manager provides technical expertise, promotes environmental awareness across the organization, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to drive continual improvement.
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental policies, procedures, and strategic plans aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
- Lead regulatory compliance efforts including permitting, inspections, and reporting for air, water, and waste management.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and risk assessments to identify non-compliance or potential hazards and drive corrective actions.
- Travel domestically and internationally to perform audits, assessments, and inspections, and represent the company on matters related to the environment.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental data; prepare reports for internal leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Liaise with federal, state, and local environmental agencies, contractors, consultants, and other external partners.
- Provide guidance and training to operations personnel and leadership on environmental practices, standards, and legal requirements.
- Promote company-wide initiatives to reduce emissions, conserve energy, and reduce environmental impact.
- Lead incident investigations related to environmental non-conformances or spills and oversee root cause analysis.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Collaborate with other QHSE leaders to ensure integrated safety and environmental performance strategies.

- 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and sustainability programs within an industrial, energy, or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to achieve results with diplomacy and assertiveness
- In-depth knowledge of environmental laws and regulations (EPA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, etc.).
- Experience managing or maintaining an ISO 14001 certified EMS.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management systems.
- Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master?s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field.
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), CHMM, or equivalent certification.
- Prior experience in the oil & gas, drilling, or energy sector.
- Experience working with ESG reporting platforms and environmental sustainability KPIs.
- Working knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as GRI, SASB, or TCFD.
