Job Description:

Apex has an immediate need for a Program Manager to support a Global IT PMO by driving the execution of HR IT implementations and business initiatives as a value-added partner to our client. You will be responsible for driving the work associated with discovery and delivery of projects large in size, scope, and complexity.

Ideal candidates will have the following:
  • Experience leading large digital business transformation programs,
  • Experience collaborating with HR program sponsors & engaging with business and IT leaders across functions,
  • Experience providing strategic direction, assessing, and managing risks, interdependencies & escalations,
  • Ability to design and adapt program structures that align with organizational strategies & ensuring delivery,
  • Experience managing Program & Project Managers to align execution strategic objectives, ensure cross-functional coordination, and empowering them to deliver successful outcomes.

  • Manages the successful delivery of enterprise-level/key strategic projects due to exceptional planning and execution leadership.
  • Adept at navigating complex projects, sometimes with a high-degree of ambiguity and applying the appropriate project management methodologies to deliver program and project outcomes.

  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of business goals and objectives.

  • Proactively identifies and addresses program risks, issues, and mitigation plans, and dependencies that need to be actively managed.
  • Drives adjustments to a program's triple constraints (scope, cost, time) regardless of the PM methodology (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) deployed.
  • Focus on the delivery of the outcomes as defined by the Product Owner (Agile) or Scope (Waterfall).
  • Financial steward ensuring that the delivery of overall program and individual projects are within the approved budget.
  • Establish strong internal and external partnerships with key stakeholders, building trust and creating a collaborative environment.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, facilitating alignment with project goals and delivery expectations.
  • Manages and oversees large project teams with internal and external resources.
  • Leverages program team expertise and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with PMO senior management to align PM strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Utilizes the strengths, skills, and expertise of the program team to drive results while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.


Additional Requirements
  • Be the Program Manager that Business Leaders seek out to run projects.
  • Consistent display of executive presence, while providing the right level of communication to instill confidence and help leaders focus on the critical decisions that are needed to address project blockers and inform decisions.
  • Create a collaborative and supportive team environment that values open communications and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to identify program trends over time and raise observations/recommendations to PMO leadership.
  • Consistently deliver on program objectives and metrics (Waterfall) or product goals (Agile) while maintaining stakeholder satisfaction and apply a consistent cycle of improvements through retrospectives
  • Bachelor's Degree from a credited institution in Business, Info System, Computer Science, Info Technology or related degree
  • Masters from a credited institution a plus, not required
  • PMP Certification a plus, not required
  • SAFe Certification a plus, not required
  • 8+ years Project Management Experience on medium-to-complex projects across multiple workstreams and/or business areas preferably HR transformations and implementations.
