Job Title: Senior MuleSoft Architect Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Remote) Duration: 6 Months Employment Type: Contract
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior MuleSoft Architect to lead integration initiatives leveraging the latest MuleSoft CloudHub and Anypoint Platform features. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of architecting and delivering complex integration solutions, with direct involvement in both high-level architectural design and detailed technical design across the last two major development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect end-to-end integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (CloudHub).
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and secure integration architectures.
Lead and oversee the development of APIs, data transformations, and system integrations using MuleSoft.
Define and document High-Level Design (HLD) and Detailed-Level Design (DLD) for all integration components.
Ensure alignment with enterprise integration patterns, security protocols, and best practices.
Provide guidance to developers, perform code reviews, and ensure delivery quality.
Troubleshoot performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement optimizations.
Maintain and evolve reusable frameworks and templates for consistent delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years of total experience in middleware/integration development.
5+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including CloudHub and API Manager.
Strong experience in designing both HLD and DLD for enterprise integration projects.
Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, RAML/OpenAPI, and API-led connectivity approach.
Proficient in DataWeave, MuleSoft Connectors, error handling, and performance tuning.
Experience integrating with various systems including databases, SaaS platforms, legacy systems, and on-prem APIs.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and API lifecycle management.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect and/or MuleSoft Certified Developer.
Experience in multi-cloud/hybrid environments.
Background in Java, Spring Boot, or other backend technologies.
Knowledge of security best practices: OAuth2, SAML, TLS, etc.
