What Youll Do
As a Java Software Engineer, you'll be part of a dynamic team developing advanced software solutions for satellite ground systems in a Linux-based, Agile/DevOps environment. Your contributions will directly impact national security and global defense operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications for satellite ground systems using Java and Python
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and fellow software developers to deliver high-performance solutions
- Modify and enhance existing codebases to meet evolving mission requirements
- Define software requirements and specifications in cross-functional teams
- Ensure software reliability, scalability, and performance
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities
- Support legacy platform migration to modern pipelines
- Follow established software engineering processes and documentation standards
- Stay current with emerging tools and technologies
- Learn and contribute to the workings of satellite ground systems
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in object-oriented software development using Java in Linux/UNIX environments
- Proficiency with unit testing tools (e.g., JUnit)
- Experience with Python
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Git, BitBucket, Confluence
- Familiarity with SonarQube and secure coding practices
- Experience with SQL and satellite communication systems/protocols
- Security+ certification
- Master's degree in STEM
