PROCESS ENGINEER
LOCATION Chicago Metropolitan Area
COMPENSATION $120,000 - 150,000
COMPANY TYPE Food Manufacturer
MUST HAVE 3+ years as a Process Engineer in Food Manufacturing
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Conduct root cause analysis on process deviations for corrective actions
- Design and execute experiments for new processes or equipment
- Develop and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures and documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally on new product development projects
- Monitor key process indicators to ensure targets are met consistently
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles
- Provide technical support to production teams and troubleshoot immediate issues
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools
- Excellent problem-solving abilities coupled with strong attention to detail
