Position: Google Cloud Platform Infrastructure Lead/Architect

Role Overview:

• We are seeking a senior and experienced Google Cloud Engineer/Lead/Architect to drive the transition of applications and infrastructure from AWS to Google Cloud.
• This role is client-facing and requires both technical depth and leadership presence.
• The Engineering Lead will oversee migration execution, replatforming and re-engineering of applications, and modernisation of infrastructure, ensuring a secure, efficient, and value-driven journey to Google Cloud.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with proven leadership in large-scale migration programs.
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform services, including GKE, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Run, and networking.
• Strong experience operating in AWS and leading migrations from AWS to Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficiency in migration tools and methods (e.g., Velostrata, StratoZone, Migrate for Compute Engine, Database Migration Service).
• Hands-on expertise with infrastructure as code and automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Deployment Manager).
• Solid understanding of application modernisation, microservices architectures, and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead client discussions, workshops, and technical decision-making.

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud migration strategies.
• Knowledge of compliance and security requirements for enterprise cloud migrations.
• Experience with data modernisation and analytics platform migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience in data modernisation and analytics platform migrations.
• Lead large-scale migrations of applications, data, and infrastructure from AWS to Google Cloud.
• Design and implement replat forming and re-engineering strategies to maximise the benefits of Google Cloud services.
• Establish migration patterns, frameworks, and accelerators that ensure repeatable and scalable execution.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to align migration activities with business goals and technical priorities.
• Partner closely with operations, architecture, and security teams to ensure smooth cutover and long-term stability.
• Mentor engineering teams and embed best practices for cloud-native architectures and migration approaches.
• Provide technical leadership across discovery, assessment, planning, migration, and post-migration optimisation phases.
