Principal Java Developer

Job Summary We are seeking a Principal Java Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems for high-performance platforms. This role involves working with modern frameworks and technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, and Kafka, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable software solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain multi-tier web applications using Java and Spring Boot Develop and expose RESTful APIs for integration with frontend systems Build and integrate real-time data processing solutions using Kafka Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers Troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently Implement security and data privacy best practices across systems Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning Optimize systems for speed, reliability, and scalability Collaborate in Agile environments and participate in sprint planning and development Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 10+ years of backend development experience in Java and Spring Boot Experience with Oracle or NoSQL databases (e.g., Aerospike) Strong understanding of RESTful API design and web services integration Experience with Kafka for building event-driven systems Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex backend systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS) AWS certification(s) Knowledge of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and their implementation Education: Bachelors Degree Certification: AWS Certification
