The Role
A leading insurance company is seeking an experienced VP of Data and Analytics for a rapidly expanding product. This position oversees all data and analytics efforts for this strategic product line.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the extended leadership team.
- Lead initiatives to shift the data team's focus towards business outcomes.
- Collaborate on the data and analytics roadmap aligned with business goals, focusing on automation and modernization.
- Enhance operational dashboards and migrate existing reports to new infrastructure, supporting business metrics like loss ratios and marketing analytics.
- Drive the ideation and execution of data science solutions, leveraging OCR, NLP, and ontology development for enhanced business insights.
- Establish governance frameworks for data modeling, metadata, and compliance, supporting complex data decisions and regulatory requirements.
- Manage a diverse team across multiple locations, fostering a unified culture and setting performance standards.
- Identify data-driven solutions to business challenges, positioning the analytics function as a strategic partner in business transformation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 12-15+ years of progressive experience in data analytics leadership roles.
- Experience in insurance or consumer financial services with complex data environments.
- Expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of OCR, NLP, LLMs.
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and familiarity with Hadoop and MS Azure.
- Proven track record of leading analytics teams and delivering business value through innovative data solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
