The Identity Platform team powers the core runtime infrastructure that underpins Microsoft's cloud-scale identity services, ensuring reliable and performant authentication and authorization for billions of users and devices around the world. We operate at the heart of Microsoft's security and Identity ecosystem, engineering the foundational platform that runs seamlessly across all Microsoft clouds and regions. Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and operate resilient, planet-scale identity infrastructure that handles billions of authentication and authorization requests daily.
- Drive runtime efficiency through deep analysis of performance, cost, and reliability metrics across multi-region deployments.
- Lead architectural decisions for distributed systems that support service hardening, security compliance, and operational excellence.
- Partner with teams across Microsoft Security to integrate and evolve platform capabilities to meet evolving product and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor engineers, championing a culture of inclusion, engineering rigor, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in on-call rotations, live site reviews, and incident analysis to improve system health and team learning.

Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting services in production clusters.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting services in production clusters.
