Job Description
As Chief Engineer (RTFE), you will serve as the lead subject matter expert responsible for integrity and performance of assigned tailings storage (TSFs), water dams, and crushed leach facilities. You’ll be accountable for guiding design implementation, performance monitoring, and risk management activities across multiple departments, collaborating closely with Engineers of Record regulatory, environmental, and operations team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as RTFE for assigned TSFs; ensure structural integrity, compliance, and risk management
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, assigning tasks and providing technical oversight
  • Oversee performance monitoring systems and interpret data for reporting to EoRs and leadership
  • Coordinate with site teams and consultants on facility design, operations, and improvements
  • Supervise site inspections, analysis, and reporting for tailings, water, and leach facilities
  • Manage budgets and scopes of work for capital and operational projects
  • Develop and review contracts and proposals for engineering and construction services
  • Establish and manage facility change management and documentation systems
  • Support internal safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements through effective design and planning
  • Interface with company leadership and executives on project status and recommendations
  • Continuously identify and implement strategies for operational and safety improvements

Required Experience/Skills
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proven technical expertise in tailings storage, crushed leach, water dam, or slurry transport systems
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing engineering projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office and professional documentation
  • Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Commitment to safety and ability to recognize and manage occupational hazards
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Nice-to-Haves
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
  • Experience in metal mining operations and tailings storage facility design/management
  • Familiarity with GoldSim, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and geotechnical analysis tools
  • Experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and seismic analysis
  • Fluency in Spanish or Bahasa Indonesian

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum AND 7+ years of experience in related engineering field or other closely related field; OR
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline from and accredited curriculum AND 5+ years of experience in related engineering field or other closely related field

Pay & Benefits
  • Salary range: $116-$152,500 annually
  • Bonus potential: 15-30% based on performance
