Digital Products Engineering is responsible for Tesla's customer facing website which serves customers in over 60 countries, helping users understand and purchase our groundbreaking products, and keep track of their orders through delivery.
Tesla's Digital Product Engineering team is seeking an exceptional software engineer, with experience in backend development, who will be responsible for building information systems to support Tesla's rapid growth while providing a seamless and intuitive customer experience. Candidate will be part of core services team at tesla, which owns backend orchestration of both Vehicle and Energy Products (storage/solar/charging) entire journey from Order, Purchase, Delivery/Installation and Ownership.
The ideal candidate is flexible, motivated and a self-starter with a strong desire to improve efficiency, scalability and make an impact with contributions to a cross-functional team. Responsibilities
  • Enhance Workflow Engine: Extend and optimize a high-performance workflow engine using .NET and Spring to manage complex business processes
  • Caching Best Practices: Implement Redis for caching, adhering to best practices to reduce latency and improve system responsiveness
  • Containerization & Deployment: Use Docker to containerize services, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability across environments
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Leverage Kafka and Kafka Connect for event streaming and real-time data integration, enabling workflow automation
  • Operational Data Access: Query Clickhouse efficiently for operational data retrieval, supporting real-time decision-making within workflows
  • Own End-to-End Features: Execute on projects from design to production, including coding, testing (unit/integration), deployment, and monitoring
  • Troubleshoot & Optimize: Monitor live system metrics, resolve production issues, and refine system performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation for new features and system improvements

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in RESTful API design with Java and C#
  • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and message queues such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
  • Strong unit and integration testing practices
  • Strong knowledge of design patterns
  • Ability to debug complex issues and optimize system performance
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

      $164,480 - $246,720/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
