Job Details

Setup and operate a printing press that prints designs multiple colors on rolls of polyethylene film. Must have a thorough knowledge of the essential duties and responsibilities of the Press Helper and the Flowman as well as those listed below for the Press Operator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review specs such as job orders, print master, mounter proof and samples
  • Help Flowman remove and install sleeves and anilox
  • Inspect initial setup samples for color, register, impression, location, overall print quality, and make any necessary adjustments
  • Adjust press and supervise Press Helper and Flowman to achieve maximum outputs, quality and safety
  • Monitor and calculate production information. Fill out and audit related paperwork such as: accumulation sheet, production sheet and job order
  • Determine a set up plan and direct Press Helper in set up duties such as: cleaning print stations, correct ink colors and viscosities, obtaining materials and supplies
  • Set impressions on printing plates and adjust color-to-color register
  • Help Flowman unload rolls from rewind, weigh, posts, label and palletize
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises up to 2 employees
    • Assigning and directing work
    • Training and appraising performance
    • Setting and monitoring goals; providing feedback

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret English language documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, company handbook and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to speak and write in English effective when presenting information to supervisors and fellow employees.
  • Required to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Shift availability (3-4 days a week, overtime based on production needs):

  • Day Shift 9am - 9pm
  • Night Shift 9pm - 9am

Ability to Relocate:

  • Van Buren, AR 72956, Relocation package available

Salary, based on experience, willing to train

  • Press Helper starting rate: $16.50 per hour
  • Press Flowman starting rate: $18.00 per hour
  • Press Operator starting rate: $20.00 per hour
