Job Details

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications on IBM Mainframe systems. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM, along with solid problem-solving and analytical skills to support business-critical systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain COBOL, JCL, and DB2 programs.

  • Analyze, debug, and resolve production issues in mainframe applications.

  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure software quality.

  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Maintain and optimize batch jobs, stored procedures, and utilities.

  • Support migration, modernization, and performance tuning activities.

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 9 years of experience in mainframe application development.

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • COBOL

    • JCL

    • DB2

    • VSAM

    • CICS

  • Proficiency in analyzing, debugging, and optimizing mainframe code.

  • Experience with file handling, batch processing, and online transactions.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Endevor, Changeman).

  • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
