Linux OS Engineer: Direct Hire

Compensation: $140-165k base compensation

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a fast growing space industry start up. We're seeking a Linux OS Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects and help drive growth.

Position: Linux OS Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

Type: Contract to hire or direct hire (local candidates preferred)

Role Overview:

As a Linux OS Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing the Linux operating system for our projects. You'll work closely with our team to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components, contributing to the success of our products and initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with device-level interaction within the Linux operating system.
  • Build and optimize Linux OS components, including drivers and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams on C++ or C development.
  • Contribute to low-level hardware-oriented tasks, such as building drivers for devices.
  • Provide expertise in embedded programming and system architecture.
  • Ensure compatibility and performance of Linux OS across various hardware platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux OS functionality.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in C++ or C programming languages.
  • Experience with embedded programming and device-level interaction.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and hardware components.
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel development and optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with chip-level software engineering and interface development.
  • Familiarity with imagers and low-level hardware interfaces (e.g., LVDS).
  • Understanding of Linux distributions, particularly Ubuntu.
