Job Description:
- The IT Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating small, medium, and large-scale projects of moderate to high complexity and risk.
- This role oversees all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives, vendor contracts, and organizational standards.
- The IT Project Manager works closely with business leads, vendors, analysts, and technical teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage and coordinate all tasks associated with projects of moderate to high complexity and risk.
- Provide project management consultation across all phases of the project and software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Collaborate with OIT teams, business leads, vendors, analysts, and subject matter experts.
- Ensure project alignment with Statements of Work (SOWs), vendor contracts, and directives from the project steering committee.
- Assist clients in defining effective strategies to achieve project objectives during initiation.
- Develop and maintain project management tools including plans for scope, risk, communication, change control, and performance tracking.
- Monitor project performance, reporting status, milestones, and emerging risks to leadership.
- Guide project teams, facilitate status meetings, evaluate scope changes, and advise sponsors on recommended actions.
- Conduct product verification at project close and facilitate lessons learned reviews.
- Manage project costs, schedules, resources, scope, issues, and risks; prepare or review estimates, plans, and budgets.
- Facilitate process assessments and redesign efforts to drive operational improvements.
- Ensure adherence to project standards, procedures, and quality benchmarks.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and ensure team members are equipped with tools and training.
- Proactively identify schedule risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate project variances, collect performance metrics, and adjust to maintain scope, budget, and quality.
- Conduct formal reviews with business sponsors and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with sponsors, vendors, and key stakeholders.
- Bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent specialized training.
- PMP certification from PMI or equivalent.
- 7+ years experience leading moderate to high complexity IT projects.
- Hands-on experience with MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint 2013, and MS O365.
