Job Details
A stealth start-up quant fund is now seeking to build a new team of Quant Researchers for their newly acquired offices in Miami. Our client is a data-driven, research-first organization, passionate about harnessing the power of data, mathematics, and technology to develop innovative trading strategies and investment models. They seek a Quantitative Researcher to work on researching, developing, and testing statistical models that identify patterns and alpha-generating opportunities in large, complex datasets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to discover alpha-generating signals using statistical, econometric, and mathematical techniques
- Design and implement quantitative models for trading, risk management, or portfolio construction
- Analyse vast datasets (financial and alternative) to uncover insights and patterns
- Back test strategies and ensure robustness through rigorous validation techniques
- Collaborate to deploy models into production systems
- Stay up to date with the latest academic and industry research
Ideal profile:
- 1-2+ years of experience working in financial quant research, either in trading environments for investment banking or buyside/hedge funds
- Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering
- Strong programming skills (Python, C++, or similar)
- Experience with data analysis, modelling and algorithm development
- Solid understanding of probability, statistics, and time-series analysis
- Familiarity with financial markets or previous experience in a trading environment is a plus
- Creative problem-solver with a rigorous, detail-oriented mindset
