Network System Design Architect (San Jose, CA)
We are looking for a highly skilled Network System Design Architect to lead the design and development of next-generation networking hardware for high-performance computing and data center environments. This role blends deep technical expertise with customer collaboration and system-level design leadership.
As a key member of the engineering organization, you will partner closely with customers, system architects, and ASIC design teams to define and deliver high-speed network systems optimized for reliability, scalability, and performance. You’ll contribute from concept to production—helping shape architectures that power the next wave of intelligent networking solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Define and architect advanced networking systems based on customer requirements and evolving data center demands.
• Engage directly with customers’ hardware teams to identify design needs, resolve technical challenges, and recommend optimized solutions.
• Lead board-level and system-level hardware design with a focus on signal integrity, power optimization, and thermal performance.
• Oversee integration of advanced ASIC technologies, ensuring seamless interoperability and system-level validation.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams to translate market requirements into innovative, manufacturable designs.
• Benchmark and evaluate competing hardware architectures to guide internal design direction and value differentiation.
• Mentor and support junior engineers in design methods, simulation techniques, and best engineering practices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in hardware design or system architecture for networking, compute, or data center equipment.
• Strong background in signal integrity and high-speed circuit design for Ethernet, PCIe, or similar interconnects.
• Demonstrated experience working with networking ASICs (Broadcom, Marvell, Cisco, or equivalent).
• Proven ability to engage with customers and internal stakeholders, translating complex requirements into practical design solutions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
• Expertise in 100G/400G/800G switch or system design.
• Familiarity with PCB layout constraints, power integrity design, and hardware validation methodologies.
• Experience in full product lifecycle development—from prototype through manufacturing.
