Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CPM/Leak Detection Engineer to join their team. This role involves maintaining and implementing advanced computational pipeline monitoring (CPM) systems and pipeline simulation systems for liquid petroleum pipelines. The successful candidate will provide real-time support to Operations Control, maintain and update the CPM Systems, and evaluate and implement enhancements. This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CPM/Leak Detection Engineer to join their team. This role involves maintaining and implementing advanced computational pipeline monitoring (CPM) systems and pipeline simulation systems for liquid petroleum pipelines. The successful candidate will provide real-time support to Operations Control, maintain and update the CPM Systems, and evaluate and implement enhancements. This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, develop, implement, and maintain CPM, leak detection systems, and pipeline simulations to meet business requirements and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide 24/7 control room support, including participation in the on-call support rotation to assist controllers and explain hydraulics concepts in practical terms.
- Collaborate with software vendors to maintain, upgrade, and periodically re-certify leak detection and simulation models.
- Manage engineering projects with competing priorities, ensuring successful completion within tight schedules.
- Develop specifications and recommendations for process control applications to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Perform periodic monitoring and analysis of all leak detection system alarms and prepare detailed reports on the findings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve abnormal operating conditions related to leak detection systems and participate in incident investigations as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science.
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Python, JAVA, PowerShell, and other relevant programming languages.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, leak detection technologies, statistical analysis, and SCADA systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data related to engineering design and calculations.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively presenting information to various stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and implement new initiatives and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations related to pipeline operations and safety.
