ECS is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to work in our Fairfax, VA office (hybrid) .

Job Description:

ECS is seeking a talented Solutions Architect to lead assigned capture, bid and proposal efforts within our CISA portfolio. In this role candidates will be empowered to lead the development of enterprise solutions throughout the opportunity lifecycle, from deal qualification through proposal submission and into knowledge transition following award. We will pair you with an experienced Capture Manager to collaborate on win, teaming, and solution strategy, with assistance from our CISA portfolio program teams and executive leaders who have developed and will help you develop close customer relationships. You will collaborate with other technologists and process SMEs to develop solution concepts, elicit feedback from both customers and other experts within the company, and iterate towards well-defined technical solutions that separate ECS from competition.

The Senior Solutions Architect translates customer requirements into a compelling solution vision, and then rally a team of supporting engineers and SMEs to achieve the right level of technical depth. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable decomposing requirements, assessing options/strategies for technologies, processes, etc., prototyping options, sketching technical concepts at the whiteboard in a room of both business and technical participants, and be confident in translating these concepts in solution strategy presentations to an executive leadership team and customers for their buy-in and support. You will be challenged to expand your understanding of emerging trends and technology in multiple technology domains.

Required Skills:

Technical Competency:
  • 5+ years of experience with federal contracting as a delivery lead (e.g., lead architect, lead engineer, technical program manager) on programs of over $50M in total contract value. Candidates should have demonstrated experience defining/implementing systems engineering processes and experience in system/solution design including hands on development/implementation of systems/solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience in the identification, qualification, capture, and proposal development phases for federal deals with demonstrated success leading these phases for opportunities of over $50M in total contract value.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills / critical thinking. Ability to analyze complex problems, consider multiple perspectives, and assess various possible solutions or outcomes. Experience in performing formalized trade-studies / evaluations is required.
  • Hands on experience creating prototypes and 'marketing / selling' solutions and ideas to customers. Candidates should have the ability to point to multiple examples of leading development of strategy, hands-on implementation, and marketing.
  • Experience with project management processes and practices.
  • Breadth of experience across multiple technical domains such as Software Development, Cybersecurity, Cloud / Infrastructure, Networking, Data / Database Design, and/or Testing. Ideal candidates can demonstrate depth in various domains and breadth across a significant range of domains.
  • Experience developing pricing strategy for new / emerging opportunities. Demonstrated experience negotiating purchases and agreements such as hardware/software purchases and workshare for teaming agreements.
  • Experience with estimating and providing formalized justifications such as a Basic of Estimates.
  • Must be a continuous learner.

Leadership:
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams of 10 or more people in federal contract delivery.
  • Ability to inspire trust and confidence among team members and stakeholders through integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate vision, strategy, and value proposition.
  • Experience delivering major presentations such as presenting to C-suite, board members, and/or being a conference speaker
  • Proven track record of fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing such as establishing or running centers of excellence/communities of practice or running training programs.
  • Strong decision-making skills to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and resolve conflicts.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and business acumen to identify new opportunities and optimal solutions. Candidates should be able to provide examples of identifying opportunities, developing a strategy to monetize it, and working with the customer and internal stakeholders to secure funding.
