Top Skills Required

  • Drafting Experience: Proven background in technical drawing and CAD drafting.
  • Utility Sector Knowledge: Experience with electric and gas utilities is highly preferred.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • MicroStation: For drafting and design.
    • IrasB: For raster editing and integration.
    • GIS (G/Tech): For mapping and spatial data management.
    • Asset Suite 8: To research engineering changes and manage documentation.
  • Map Updates: Ability to update electric and gas facility maps accurately.
  • As-Built Verification: Ensure drawings reflect actual field conditions.
  • CAD Standards Maintenance: Maintain PECO Electric Construction Standards in CAD format.

Secondary/Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with underground and aerial utility infrastructure.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks for 2D/3D modeling.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing drawing files and documentation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and revise technical drawings based on engineer or architect specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements.
  • Incorporate design changes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical documents.
  • Support construction teams by clarifying drawings and providing updates.
  • Maintain drawing archives and ensure version control.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or Technical School Certificate in CAD or related field.
  • Experience: Prior work in utility drafting or infrastructure mapping is a strong asset.
  • Detail Orientation: Precision and accuracy are critical in all aspects of the role.

This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
