Description
TEKsystems is seeking a Critical Environment Technician to support operations and maintenance of centrifugal chiller systems in a mission-critical environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and reliability. Technicians will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting Trane chiller systems, performing diagnostics, and supporting infrastructure in high-availability environments such as data centers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on centrifugal chillers, with a focus on Trane systems
  • Conduct eddy current testing on condenser and evaporator tubes
  • Monitor system performance, refrigerant levels, and evaporator approach temperatures
  • Document and escalate irregularities per global maintenance standards
  • Collaborate with site teams and CE Managers to ensure operational compliance
  • Maintain accurate records in CMMS and change management systems
  • Respond to emergency service calls and participate in rotating on-call schedules

Top Skills Needed:
  • Centrifugal chiller maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Electrical systems in critical infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with VFD/VSD systems
  • OSHA or NFPA 70E certification
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience with Trane or similar chiller systems
  • Experience in data centers, hospitals, manufacturing, or other high-availability environments
  • Strong understanding of mechanical diagnostics and fluid dynamics
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Initial shift: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM

This is a Contract position based out of Fayetteville, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
