Warehouse Innovation Specialist
Trilogy NextGen is a systems integration firm focused on the 3PL and logistics industry. We partner with our clients—from mid-market operators to the Fortune 500—to navigate the complexities of digital transformation. Our mission is to bridge the critical gap between operational reality and technological possibility, turning warehouse facilities into competitive advantages.
Responsibilities
1. Client-Side Assessment & Analysis (40%)
- Diagnose: Lead on-site operational assessments ("Gemba walks") at client facilities to rapidly understand their end-to-end processes (Inbound to Outbound) and unique business constraints.
- Analyze & Benchmark: Use data from the client's WMS and other systems to baseline performance, identify bottlenecks, and benchmark against industry best practices.
- Find the "Why": Conduct root cause analysis on process failures, inventory inaccuracies, or productivity gaps.
2. Solution Design & Strategy (30%)
- Map the Future: Design and document optimized "to-be" processes that integrate new technologies and streamline workflows.
- Build the Business Case: Develop clear, data-driven ROI models and business cases to help clients prioritize and justify investments in WMS upgrades, automation (e.g., AMRs), or other enabling technologies.
- Present Findings: Create and deliver executive-level presentations that clearly articulate problems, solutions, and expected value.
3. Implementation & Change Management Support (30%)
- Act as SME: Serve as Trilogy NextGen's subject matter expert during client technology projects (e.g., WMS selection, implementation, or optimization).
- Guide Implementation: Advise clients on best-practice system configuration, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) script development, and provide on-site go-live support.
- Drive Adoption: Assist clients in developing SOPs, training materials, and change management plans to ensure new processes and technologies are adopted successfully.
- Manage Projects: Support project management activities, including tracking timelines, identifying risks, and managing stakeholder communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a high-volume 3PL, e-commerce fulfillment, or distribution center environment.
- Deep WMS Expertise: Proven experience as a "super user" or implementation team member for a major WMS (e.g., Manhattan, Blue Yonder, HighJump/Körber, Oracle WMS, etc.).
- Process Improvement Mindset: Demonstrable experience in process mapping (Visio/Lucidchart), root cause analysis, and industrial engineering principles.
- Superior Communication: Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical operations teams and to present confidently to client leadership.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; ability to query, analyze, and visualize data to find insights.
- Professional Presence: The poise and emotional intelligence to act as a trusted, credible advisor to clients.
- Willingness to Travel: This role requires significant travel (e.g., 50-75%) to client sites.
Preferred "Nice-to-Have" Qualifications
- Direct experience with a WMS implementation or go-live.
- Exposure to warehouse automation and robotics (e.g., AMRs, ASRS, pick-to-light).
- Data skills: Experience with SQL or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Project management experience or certification (PMP, CAPM, Agile).
- Prior consulting experience (even in a junior or internal role).
Why This Role at Trilogy NextGen?
This is a career accelerator. You will gain more exposure to different operational models, technologies, and high-stakes business problems in two years than you would in ten years at a single company. You will be at the forefront of the industry's digital shift, building a powerful network and a reputation as a true expert.
