Fortune 100 Telecommunication company based in NYC is hiring a Video Network Engineer II to join their team.
Investigates and troubleshoots enterprise video networks and related hardware and software issues. Updates and documents network architecture. Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps. Establishes security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters. Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure. Tests and tunes video devices and systems. Programs video and network devices. Implements communications technologies (data or video). Manages network services from planning phase through implementation. Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure are required. 3 - 5 years of experience.
Candidate video Experience and knowledge:
- At least 3 years of experience in video networks
- Expertise in Juniper routers and switches (JNCIS, JNCIP)
- Knowledge of IP multicast, IGMP, PIM protocols
- Good experience with Cisco DCMs, ATX Digistreams, Harmonic Prostreams and video Transport and processing gear.
- Knowledge of Video Compression (MPEG2 & MPEG4)
- Video Encoding (SDI, ASI, SPTS, MPTS)
- MPEG Transport Stream Structure/PIDs
- Knowledge of Digital boxes and Digital terminal adapters
- Experience in Network Security, Firewalls (Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, etc)
- Knowledge of Remote PHY
- Emphasis and well experienced and hands on, on EdgeQAMs, updating, configuration, troubleshooting issues: Harmonic NSG40, NSG6, D5, APEX1000, APEX1500, RFGW1k, ATX UCrypt.
- Use of Tools and applications adopted by our company, Granite, Remedy Ticketing System, Jira, Salesforce, Splunk, Sharepoint, CA Spectrum, Webex...etc.
