responsibilities:
We're looking for a skilled Test Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in bringing innovative broadband network products to market. In this role, you'll be responsible for verifying new product releases-including hardware and software for OLTs, ONTs, and EMS-ensuring they are ready for customer deployment.
You'll perform a variety of tests to validate conformance to requirements, performance, and overall readiness. Your work will involve more than just feature and regression testing; you'll also reproduce field-reported issues in a lab environment, report your findings to the R&D team, and verify that implemented fixes are effective. Your contributions will directly influence product quality, helping us make customer-focused recommendations before official release.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and document results throughout the product validation lifecycle.
- Review and understand technical specifications, including GPON standards, RFCs, and other related documents.
- Conduct thorough product testing from a customer perspective, including designing test environments and evaluating results.
- Register and track product defects using tools like JIRA and TestRail.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues, verify fixes, and provide information to improve product quality.
- Assist field support engineers in troubleshooting and reproducing potential software or hardware defects.
- Issue a comprehensive release recommendation at the end of each test cycle, outlining the testing performed and any outstanding issues.
qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, and Layer 2/3 switching.
- Experience with optical fiber, IP network test equipment, and OLT/ONTs.
- Solid understanding of OMCI, SIP, MGoogle Cloud Platform, H.248, router functions, and GPON.
- Strong background in broadband technologies, including GigE, Voice, and Broadband deployments.
- Proficient in SNMP and TR-069.
- Familiarity with Residential Gateway (RG) features such as NAT, PPPoE, DDNS, etc.
- Working knowledge of Linux systems and virtual machines such as VirtualBox or VMware, including both usage and administration.
- Experience in test automation and basic understanding of Python.

Requirements (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Telecommunications, Computer Science) or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 3 years of QA/test experience, preferably within the networking or telecommunications industry.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Layer 2/3 switching, and optical fiber.
- Experience with GPON and related broadband technologies (e.g., GigE, Voice).
- Solid understanding of OMCI, SIP, MGoogle Cloud Platform, and H.248.
- Working knowledge of Linux systems and virtual machines (e.g., VirtualBox, VMware).
- Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and documenting test results.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferences (Nice-to-Haves)
- Familiarity with Residential Gateway (RG) features such as NAT and PPPoE.
- Experience with test automation and a basic understanding of Python.
- Experience in multi-vendor telecommunications environments.
- Linux Professional Certification (LPIC) or Professional Tester Certification (e.g., ISTQB Foundation).
