Worldwide Technology is looking for a Java Developer with Scala Experience Fraud Protection. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Duration/Type of Job: 6+ months

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $50 to $65 hourly (Rate range is on C2C basis). Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Our Fraud Protection team is dedicated to safeguarding our customers and systems by leveraging cutting-edge technology to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent activities in real time.

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with Scala experience to join our Fraud Protection team. You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable applications to combat fraud in data-driven environment. This role requires strong expertise in Java, proficiency in Scala, and a passion for building secure, robust systems to protect our customers and business.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Scala in production environments.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, functional programming, and design patterns.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, or similar) and stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Flink).
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Understanding of fraud detection techniques, cybersecurity principles, or risk management is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement fraud detection and prevention solutions using Java and Scala.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and security experts, to enhance fraud protection systems.
- Build and optimize scalable, low-latency applications to process large volumes of transactional and behavioral data.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Integrate with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and real-time streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) to support fraud detection algorithms.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in production environments.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of fraud protection strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in fraud protection, cybersecurity, or financial systems development.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks or data analytics tools.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
