Job Description:

The Integration Systems Engineer will provide dedicated support to the USSF. The qualified applicant will develop and maintain advanced computing infrastructures to support ground system applications and mission-critical operations. The role involves integrating COTS and GOTS products with responsibilities for troubleshooting network issues and optimizing application performance. The position involves adapting to changing priorities while solving problems effectively and collaborating directly with customers and team members during critical mission implementations and testing events.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Integrate COTS & GOTS products for enhanced system operations, security protocols and performance monitoring
  • Monitor and optimize application performance, identifying bottlenecks and collaborating on solutions
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies for mission resilience
  • Support System and Software Leads in achieving integration goals and objectives
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to improve system efficiency and minimize human intervention
  • Build and maintain operational checklists (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) as well as TTPs and SOPs
  • Assess and mitigate system threats/risks throughout the program lifecycle
  • Contribute to planning, risk analysis, certification, and awareness activities for system and network operations
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of information system security policies, with an emphasis on network integration
  • Adapt to shifting requirements and recommend system enhancements and risk mitigations
  • Directly interface with government and contractor team members to address nebulous requirements
  • Support ground segment systems engineering to include requirements derivation, mapping to architecture, high-level design and detail design and capturing in design configuration-controlled artifacts and documentation
  • Provide program support to include, but not limited to inputs for Program documentation in support of a Major Transition Acquisition (ex. System Engineering Plan (SEP), Test Engineering Management Plan (TEMP), Program Protection Plan (PPP), Lifecycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)).
  • Coordinate with contractors and the Program Office (PO) for the design and the integration of Ground capabilities into the TAP Lab. Those capabilities include user/operator workspaces and collaboration areas, data center resources and space, network and communications, cybersecurity, shared infrastructure services, and standard operating procedures and tenant support activities.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant degree
  • 8+ years of IT System Engineering experience
  • Advanced technical competency in Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V/VMWare/ESXi/Xen Hypervisors, enterprise networking/firewalls/intrusion detection, Group Policy management, scripting, BMC Footprints, SQL Server, IIS, Windows desktop OS, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet mission objectives
  • Able to contribute technical expertise throughout the system lifecycle, including design, integration, testing, and delivery to operations
  • Experience in Space to Ground and Ground to Ground ICD development and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to develop CONOPS and use-cases

Desired Skills:
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and sustaining complex software applications, including microservices and containerized pipelines
  • Proficiency with performing CI/CD within a DevSecOps pipeline and familiarity with common tools (e.g., Git)
  • Experience in Model Based System Engineering modeling and simulation (M&S) and CAMEO systems modeler for system integration validation and ICD constructs

Security Clearance Requirement:
An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.

Salary Range: $100,900.00 - $176,600.00
