Job Overview
The MTS, Cloud Hardware Engineering is responsible for leading the technical design, integration, and optimization of cloud hardware infrastructure that powers T-Mobile's computer, networking, and storage environments. This role collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and ODMs to develop next-generation cloud hardware solutions while ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. The MTS provides technical expertise in cloud hardware architecture, product development, and infrastructure automation, driving innovation and reliability in hardware systems.

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and integration of cloud hardware components, including server racks and infrastructure solutions.
- Define and drive cloud hardware technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with T-Mobile's long-term cloud strategy and industry best practices.
- Analyze and optimize hardware performance, power efficiency, and reliability to meet business and operational needs.
- Work closely with vendors, ODMs, and internal teams to evaluate, test, and deploy cloud hardware solutions. Influence vendor roadmaps to align with T-Mobile's needs.
- Ensure hardware security, compliance with industry standards, and governance best practices.
- Conduct market analysis, explore emerging trends, and drive next-generation cloud hardware solutions.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience (Required)
- Master's/Advanced Degree Master's or PhD in a relevant field (Preferred)
- 7-10 years Experience in cloud hardware engineering, infrastructure design, or related technical fields. Required
- 5+ years Experience developing cloud server and rack hardware solutions. Required
- 5+ years Lead experience in hardware architecture, vendor management, and product development. Required
- 7-10 years Broader experience in cloud environments, automation, and compute infrastructure. Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Cloud & Hardware Infrastructure: Expertise in server architecture, power systems, and cloud hardware components. (Required)
- Hardware & Software Integration: Proven ability to optimize cloud hardware with software for maximum efficiency. (Required)
- Advanced Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Experience diagnosing and resolving complex hardware performance issues. (Required)
- Strategic Collaboration & Vendor Management: Works with vendors and internal teams to align hardware solutions with T-Mobile's cloud strategy. (Required)
- Security & Compliance: Deep knowledge of hardware security, compliance frameworks, and governance policies. (Required)
- Process Improvement & Automation: Leads automation initiatives for cloud hardware deployment and lifecycle management. (Required)
