Reporting To: AI Product Management Lead
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Technical Project Manager (Contractor) to establish and manage the program structure and governance for 3-5 concurrent AI initiatives.
As the AI Product Management Lead, I am looking for a self-starter with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of product management and AI development processes to drive these critical projects forward.
Responsibilities:
- Program Structure & Governance: Design, implement, and maintain a robust program structure and governance framework for several AI projects, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and product strategy. This includes defining processes for project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Project Planning & Execution:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and sponsors to define project scopes, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
Drive project execution, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, and resolving impediments to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Leadership Communication:
Provide regular updates to the AI Product Management Lead, key collaborators, and cross-functional teams. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal teams (e.g., IT, legal, compliance) and external vendors.
- Vendor Management:
Work closely with external vendors involved in the development of AI solutions, managing their scope, deliverables, and ensuring their integration into the overall program.
- Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies. Devel-op contingency plans and escalate issues as necessary to ensure successful project out-comes.
- Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
Generate regular reports on pro-gram progress, key metrics, and areas for improvement.
- Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and refine project management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the AI program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree required
PMP certification required
Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, ideally with a focus on AI/ML or data science projects
Demonstrated ability to establish and manage complex program structures and governance models.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, development methodologies, and common challenges in deploying AI solutions.
- Experience interacting with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Ability to be on-site in Plainsboro Township, New Jersey, 3 days per week (T, W, TH).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a product-led organization.
