Title: IT Infrastructure Project Manager
Location: San Francisco, CA ( Remote ); Have to come to the Office during meetings or when required
Duration: 12+ Months
VISA: U.S. Citizens, s due to legal or government contract requirements.

Client is looking for an IT PM to support two strategic network/security initiatives. We are looking to have this PM start ASAP so I appreciate your timely response.
  • Experience:
    6-8 years technical PM experience with a focus on Infrastructure Network-related projects.
    PMP certification preferred.
    Project Assignments:
    - Support for two projects within a larger Infrastructure Security one-time funded Program.
    o Project 1: Network Security Infrastructure Modernization (NSIM)
    Supporting network routing and documentation improvements.
    Expected to be 15% of time, there is a technical PM with the third-party vendor implementing the effort that will be partnered with the IS project manager.
    o Project 2: Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)
    Implementing several modules within the Palo Alto SASE portfolio: NAC, DLP, CASB, Zero Trust UCSF Branded Identity Based Security , role-based access to network and UCSF resources, 85% of time
    - Key stakeholders:
    o UCSF Executive Sponsor: VP IT Infrastructure and CISO
    o UCSF Sponsor: Director of Network Services
    o Vendor Partners: WWT (Network) and Palo Alto (SASE), vendor contracts are already in place with technical resources and vendor PM
    o Architecture and Engineering from Network, Identity, and Security
    - Project Management responsibilities: Duties:
    o Develop and maintain a detailed project plan with milestones, dependencies, and resource allocations.
    o Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to align timelines and deliverables.
    o Provide monthly status reports to stakeholders, including progress updates, risks, and mitigation plans.
    o Escalate issues proactively and ensure transparency in project health.
    o Manage governance structures, including steering committee meetings, to ensure strategic alignment and executive sponsorship.
    o Facilitate decision-making and approvals for key changes and investments.
    o Coordinate and communicate changes to the environment, including network configurations, security policies, and user access models.
    o Ensure proper documentation and change control processes are followed.
    o Align cross-functional teams (network, security, cloud, and identity access management) on roles and responsibilities.
    o Serve as the central point of contact for all project communications.
    o Support development of training materials and schedules for technical teams and end users.
    o Ensure knowledge transfer and operational readiness post-deployment.
    o Identify and manage risks related to security, compliance, and service continuity.
    o Ensure alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
    o Oversee transition to operations, including handoff to support teams and documentation of runbooks.
    o Monitor early adoption and performance metrics to validate success criteria.
    - Skills:
    o This is a project management position, but an overall knowledge of IT network and security practices/principles is required.
    o Requires advanced knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.
    o Demonstrated verbal and written skills.
    o Working knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
    o Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
    o Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.
    o Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
    o Proven leadership ability. Effective problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments.
    o General knowledge of networking, cloud security, and identity and access management concepts
    o Familiarity with Palo Alto technologies: Prisma Access, Prisma SD-WAN, Strata Cloud Manager, and Strata Logging Service
    Cloud-delivered security services including firewall-as-a-service (FWaaS), secure web gateway (SWG), cloud access security broker (CASB), and zero trust network access (ZTNA)
    Centralized management platform for policy enforcement, configuration, and visibility across the SASE environment
    URL filtering, DNS security, WildFire (malware analysis), and data loss prevention (DLP) to protect users and data across all access points
    Integration with UCSF identity providers for enforcing user-based policies and enabling ZTNA (UCSF-branded Identity-Based Security)
    Logging services to support compliance and operational insights
