About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Debt Market Research - Spectra Technology team within the Investment Banking division. This role is part of a strategic modernization initiative to migrate a legacy desktop application to a scalable web-based platform, with a target delivery date of October. You will lead the engineering efforts, collaborating with a global team to build robust, secure, and scalable solutions that support the full lifecycle of deal processing.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software development initiatives, from design through deployment.
• Migrate legacy desktop applications to modern web-based platforms.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including offshore engineers, QA, infrastructure, and support.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums and sprint planning.
• Deliver high-quality code and meet sprint goals (target: 10 story points per sprint).
• Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Support production systems and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, and Object-Oriented Design.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL and REST API development.
• Experience with build and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Team Build, UDeploy, or Harness.
• Proven ability to work in Agile environments and deliver on sprint commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OpenShift or other container orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
• Background in Capital Markets or Investment Banking.
• Exposure to GitHub Copilot or similar GenAI tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
