Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
  • Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensure software standards are met.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Coordinate software system installations and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Science Information Systems (CSIS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years' experience developing custom web pages and applications.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software development practices (e.g. Scrum/XP).
  • Experience in software development and coding using front-end (HTML, Javascript) and back-end (ASP.NET, C#, XML, JSON). languages.
  • Experience using web design patterns and frameworks.
  • Experience with tiered application development.
  • Experience maintaining web code repositories and performing basic web site administration.
  • Strong proficiency in time management, project management, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to capture requirements and execute into technical solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change.

CLEARANCE:
  • Active TS Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $94,400.00/Yr. - USD $157,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
