Overview
Join a rapidly growing organization in the midst of transforming from a "mom-and-pop" operation into a mature enterprise IT environment. This role is pivotal to modernizing infrastructure, supporting data center growth, and strengthening the overall security posture. As a Systems Engineer, you'll be hands-on with VMware, Windows systems, and storage environments, while also contributing to projects involving security tool deployment and scalable infrastructure builds.
Key Responsibilities
Data Center Expansion
Support new data center builds from the ground up.
Deploy systems, networking, and storage components in line with company growth.
System Engineering & Infrastructure
Design, build, and manage VMware environments and Windows-based systems.
Configure and rack mount servers, including cabling and power.
Handle storage zoning and presentation, ideally with NetApp solutions.
Build virtual machines and support infrastructure scalability.
Security & Access Management
Use BeyondTrust for secure VM access.
Install and configure security tools, including:
CrowdStrike
Tenable
Automation & Scripting
Utilize PowerShell for task automation and script customization.
Work with basic Azure tools and APIs for integration purposes.
Nice to Have
Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Azure for cloud expansion.
Skills & Technologies
VMware (vSphere, vCenter) and Windows Server administration
NetApp or equivalent storage solutions - zoning, LUN presentation, performance tuning
Rack server installation, power, and network cabling
IO/storage performance troubleshooting
PowerShell scripting for automation
Azure fundamentals, especially API connectivity
Kubernetes exposure a plus
