Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Location: Remote or Onsite Hybrid
Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire


Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team. This role will play a key part in advancing our cloud maturity by contributing to large-scale cloud migration initiatives, supporting cloud infrastructure, and upskilling team members in cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in AWS, strong cloud networking and server administration experience, and a collaborative approach to team development and mentorship.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based systems and infrastructure with a focus on AWS.




  • Partner with infrastructure, networking, system admin, and DevOps teams to ensure a smooth transition to cloud environments.




  • Collaborate with other departments to gather requirements and propose scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.




  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform.




  • Provide mentorship and training to mid-level engineers and system/network administrators on cloud best practices.




  • Develop scripts and automation using languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Java.




  • Support cloud-related aspects of enterprise applications and services.




  • Monitor cloud system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for efficiency and uptime.




  • Assist with governance initiatives around policies, roles, identity, and secure cloud architecture.




  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations.




Qualifications:




  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on cloud engineering experience.




  • Advanced proficiency in AWS services, cloud networking, and cloud-based server administration (SQL or PostgreSQL preferred; Linux a plus).




  • Experience in scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Java).




  • Familiarity with secure cloud development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps processes.




  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor other team members.




  • Solid understanding of infrastructure environments including on-prem and hybrid setups.




  • Comfortable leading initiatives while also being a collaborative team player.




Preferred:




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.




  • Prior experience supporting cloud migration in a structured enterprise environment.




  • Exposure to training or upskilling peers in a cloud-focused setting.
