Network and Systems Engineer (Part Time)
Our client, a prominent healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and manage their IT network infrastructure. This is a part-time contract role offering flexible hours and fully remote work-ideal for professionals seeking a dynamic, asynchronous environment.
As a Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining the security, performance, and reliability of both on-premises and cloud-based network systems. Your responsibilities will span from day-to-day troubleshooting to long-term infrastructure planning and optimization.

As a Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining the security, performance, and reliability of both on-premises and cloud-based network systems. Your responsibilities will span from day-to-day troubleshooting to long-term infrastructure planning and optimization.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Maintain and troubleshoot network hardware/software (firewalls, switches, routers).
- Monitor traffic and analyze performance to identify and mitigate security threats.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
- Manage ISP contracts, accounts, and performance against service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Support Wi-Fi configuration and enhance wireless security.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure, procedures, and workflows.
- Track and manage the inventory and lifecycle of all network components.
- Deliver monthly performance and availability reports to IT leadership.
- Assist with disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP).
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with corporate network infrastructure.
- Expertise in Fortinet and Cisco Meraki systems.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and other core network protocols.
- Experience managing ISP/vendor relationships and associated contracts.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining detailed network diagrams.
- Familiarity with cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure AD, Office 365) is a strong plus.
