Valiant Solutions is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Lead to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team in Washington DC!

 

The SOC Lead manages the Security Operations Center (SOC) staff to perform monitoring, threat hunting, analysis, resolution, and reporting of security incidents and vulnerabilities across all IT Infrastructure systems and applications. The SOC Lead will quickly escalate issues based on impact and ensure timely resolution.

This position is based in Washington DC and may allow for partial remote. Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees and we strictly adhere to the details found below in our Remote Work Policy.

 

Required Experience:

  • ship and the ability to obtain a federal clearance, up to a Top Secret clearance.
  • 10+ years experience in a lead role managing a major data center or IT Security Operations Center, supporting a broad range of IT capabilities.
  • One or more active cybersecurity certifications.
  • Experience using IT tools to monitor security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience managing and providing guidance to the SOC team, maintaining SOC personnel shift schedules, and managing and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the SOC.
  • Experience leading the development of incident response plans and SOPs, the creation of customer reports, and the management of the identification, triage, and response of security events.
  • In-depth experience with processing and triage of Security Alerts; from multiple sources but not limited to: Endpoint security tools, SIEM, email security solutions, Threat Intel Sources, etc.
  • Experience and solid understanding of Malware analysis
  • Proven experience leading and executing executive presentations, demonstrations, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate with department executives
  • Proven ability to form strong client relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, interviewing, analytical, and problem-solving skills to address variable situations

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a 24x7x365 Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Manage SOC staff to perform monitoring, threat hunting, analysis, resolution, and reporting of security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage SOC functions, ensuring the organization has the right controls, tools, technology, and visibility to respond effectively to cybersecurity threats.
  • Ensure compliance with all SOC processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Develop and manage a resource scheduling roster that demonstrates no gaps in service, even during personal emergencies or planned non-emergency resource time off.
  • Utilize IT tools to monitor security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Perform threat hunting across complex IT architectures.
  • Maintain a current understanding of industry trends, emerging cyber threats, and new solutions that may impact the SOC environment
  • Work with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure that the SOC aligns with business objectives, mission, and values by developing comprehensive SOC strategies and tactics
  • Coordinate and perform multiple assignments in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Work independently to resolve complex issues.
