Job Title - IT Vendor Management
Location : Hybrid, Des Moines, IA / 4 days remote and 1 day onsite

Position Overview
The Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Information Management (IMHI), is seeking an experienced IT Vendor Manager to support the Department of Management, Division of Information Technology (DoIT). The IT Vendor Manager will oversee vendor relationships, contract compliance, performance monitoring, and strategic sourcing activities to ensure alignment with the State of Iowa's IT standards, cybersecurity requirements, and long-term technology goals.
DoIT provides secure, cost-effective, and adaptable technology solutions for the State of Iowa Executive Branch, managing IT assets, resources, and projects that support critical services for Iowa's citizens and families. The selected candidate will play a key role in enhancing vendor performance, optimizing technology investments, and mitigating vendor-related risks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- At least 2 years of full-time relevant IT vendor management experience.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage vendor relationships across software, hardware, cloud services, and IT consulting engagements.
- Monitor vendor performance through SLAs, KPIs, and risk metrics and initiate corrective actions for underperformance.
- Ensure contract compliance with state procurement standards, cybersecurity policies, data privacy regulations, and accessibility requirements.
- Support strategic sourcing efforts and maintain a comprehensive vendor portfolio aligned with the state's IT roadmap.
- Conduct market analysis to identify emerging technologies and evaluate qualified vendors.
- Benchmark vendor pricing and service levels against industry standards to drive cost optimization and value for money.
- Collaborate with procurement, security, IT leaders, and project teams to support vendor onboarding, contract reviews, and renewals.
- Assist in negotiating contract terms, amendments, and performance improvement plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation, vendor scorecards, performance reports, and compliance artifacts.
