Job Description Summary:

Assists in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods. Develops simple test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk. Designs component and sub-assembly level hardware or software and uses analytical tools to verify the design. Assists in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware. Identifies solutions to basic problems and supports the development of metrology processes, methods, and tools. Supports development of test debrief material. Participates in evaluation of test performance data. Reviews test data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer. Alerts senior engineers of off-nominal data. Prepares test reports for review. Works under general supervision.

Job Description

The Boeing Company is looking for an Infrastructure and System Administrator to join our Space Systems Verification and Test team in El Segundo, CA. In this position, you'll contribute to a team responsible for the hardening, deployment, automation, setup, and readiness of Special Test Equipment in factory and launch environments.

The Infrastructure and System Administrator Functions supports a 24/7 hour Test operation. This position is 4th shift meaning, various shifts, nights, weekends, and alternate shifts may be required to support program objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

Provides Factory Floor support to multiple Programs; defining & documenting Test setups, Deploying Test Software & Configurations, Troubleshooting, communicating/coordinating program requests, and supporting requests from the team to improve effectiveness, efficiency, productivity

Develops, implements, and sustains tools that enable product security requirements

Utilizes agile methodologies to plan, execute, and track product security statement of work

Develops and enhances system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements

Configures and ensures security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used for product: design, development, build, test, storage, delivery, operations, and support

Work with the Infrastructure Manager to help transform the existing Test IT infrastructure and Tools, implementing the best practices to manage server room

Leverages technical knowledge of infrastructure to manage, maintain, improve, deploy and harden complex Test infrastructure.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, or equivalent experience.

Current CompTIA Security+ certification

Experience managing data center and large IT systems

Experience in Operating Systems: Windows Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux

Experience in VMWare Virtualization

Experience in Enterprise Storage

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

ITIL 4 certification

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification

Experience in Cyber Security

Experience in Oracle Solaris

Experience in Cisco switches, ASA and Palo Alto Firewall

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
