  • We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Support Engineer with a focus on .NET API applications, integrations, and site reliability engineering (SRE) to support our interoperability platform.
  • This role involves deep technical troubleshooting, system reliability monitoring, performance optimization, and efficient incident resolution within a highly regulated Health IT environment.
  • As a member of our SRE and Support team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the resilience and performance of key interoperability services-leveraging standards like FHIR and HL7, and integrating across EHRs, HIEs, and health systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a senior-level support engineer for production .NET-based API applications and integration layers, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to API transactions, system performance, and data exchange across healthcare systems.
  • Monitor system health using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and other observability platforms.
  • Manage and triage incidents and service requests via ServiceNow, ensuring timely updates, escalations, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure smooth rollouts and post-deployment support of new services or updates.
  • Support and monitor interoperability workflows using FHIR, HL7 v2/v3, CCD/C-CDA, and other healthcare data exchange formats.
  • Perform advanced SQL Server querying and optimization for root cause analysis, data validation, and performance diagnostics.
  • Contribute to the automation of routine operational tasks and playbooks to improve reliability and reduce toil.
  • Provide on-call support (on a rotation basis) and participate in incident response planning and disaster recovery testing.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST) in support operations and logging practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in application/integration support for .NET-based APIs and enterprise applications.
  • Need to have hands on C#, .Net MVC/.Net core, .Net Web API, Windows services. Azure basics knowledge is required. Should have used any Web API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, etc.
  • Proven experience with SRE practices and principles in production environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server: writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar observability/monitoring tools.
  • Experience using and managing support workflows in ServiceNow.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare interoperability standards: FHIR (R4/5), HL7 v2/v3, C-CDA, X12 etc.
  • Familiarity with secure transport protocols (e.g., HTTPS, mTLS), authentication standards (OAuth 2.0), and API management (Apigee).
  • Understanding of production deployment processes and CI/CD practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and root cause elimination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting applications in cloud environments (Azure, AKS, DataBricks, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and health information exchanges (HIEs).
  • Knowledge of data privacy/security practices in healthcare (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
