Duties

Help

  • Serves as a DLA Enterprise Service Delivery Indo-Pacific (ESD Indo-Pac) IT Specialist (System Administration/Customer Support) at the assigned duty station.
  • Advises ESD Indo-Pac management and customers on new developments and advanced techniques, with a perspective on the integration of IT infrastructure components into the business operations and established IT architectures.
  • Responsible for providing on-site and remote system administration, COOP/Exercise support, customer onboarding/offboarding, M365 support (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) Apple iOS, Multi-function devices (MFD)...
  • ...SIPRNet, Secure View, NIPRNet, Microsoft Defender Enterprise, COMSEC, file server, print server, local area networks (LAN), vulnerability management, mobile device support, voice services (VOIP) and other technologies DLA requires.
  • Provides information technology guidance related to systems problems, new/emerging technologies, IT and administrative policy requirements, technical and administrative processes, etc. to IT Specialists and end users worldwide.
  • Provides support for enterprise wireless devices to include iPhones, Cell Phones, Mifi devices and DISA DMCC secure devices.
  • Performs end-of-life IT hardware turn-in through approved practices with records management in mind.
  • Tracks daily workload/projects and assets through Service Now (SNOW).

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT), your qualifications must include:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

- Participates in IT program development and planning, deployment of new initiatives, and other programs to promote customer relations;

- Researches and analyzes statistical data in various systems and prepares comprehensive reports reflecting IT patterns, diagnostics, problems, and remedial action.

- Applies knowledge of IT systems design and DLA/DOD software combined with demonstrated knowledge of multiple COTS applications (i.e., Windows OS, Microsoft Office and McAfee, etc.), Government Developed/Provided Software and associated software tool(s) to include installation of updates/changes, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting in order to forecast, interpret, identify, schedule and accommodate customer support requirements; integrate and document configurations; and test, install, recover, monitor and manage assigned Operating Systems required/used by organizations worldwide

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.

Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing.

The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids.

ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
