We have immediate opportunities for Power BI Engineer's to join our team as Customer Engineers (CE s). This is a remote (home based), salaried role with great benefits and a fantastic team. A CE s time is dedicated to working with some of the largest, and most sophisticated companies in the world, usually F1000. You will be responsible for customer satisfaction, deployment, adoption, and support of SQL initiatives. They work with and assist customers in building, operating, and optimizing complex enterprise environments. You will be a trusted advisor, a specialist the room is looking to for guidance, education and adherence for best practices, risk mitigation etc.

CE's are home based and typically deliver services via Microsoft Teams.

Salary Range: $100K - $120K based on experience.

Primary work includes:

  • Standard Product Work Shops - Training
  • In-Depth Product Reviews - White Board (Chalk Talk) Sessions
  • Health Checks / Assessments
  • Post Operational Review of Product Implementations
  • Product Upgrade / Migration Assessments
  • Systems Performance Reviews
  • Act as the primary technical contact, providing customer visibility, advanced technical support, and problem resolution for corporate customers, including issues raised to the highest levels of management

The experience you ll need to excel in the role:

  • Enterprise level support and administration focused specifically on:
  • Power BI, Power BI Embedded, SQL performance and tuning optimization, Clustering, Always On Availability groups, High Availability.
  • Extensive experience with Power BI development including Power BI embedded skills.
  • Power BI solution design, PBI embedded development skills and Performance optimization skills are required.
  • Proficiency in DAX for developing complex calculations and measures.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and experience with integration of data warehouse.
  • Solving performance problems, query tuning, and optimization
  • SQL Server on IaaS experience on Azure/ Other public cloud required.
  • All versions of SQL Server (2012 and onwards)
  • Architectural experience for Data Platform
  • Architecting for High Availability and Disaster recovery solutions using FCI, Always on Availability groups
  • Delivering and/or authoring technical training
  • Advanced Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Previous Consulting and/or customer facing role.
  • Azure data factory, Azure SQLDB, Azure SQLDB Managed Instance, Azure Synapse knowledge is a plus.

Technical Skills you should bring to the position include Development experience in:

  • Power BI Solution design and embedded development.
  • Data modeling and database design.
  • DAX, Power Query M Language, development and optimization
  • Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop skills
  • Data connectivity best practices to SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Azure, AWS and other services.
  • Custom visualizations
  • Power BI Row Level security along with other Security features.
  • Indexing strategy
  • Performance Optimization and Tuning Capabilities
  • Partitioning data implementations
  • Database schema creation and management.
  • Ensuring High availability and Disaster recovery.
  • SQL code reviews with ability to dissect query plan, T-SQL code
  • Data Encryption
  • Auditing
  • Replication of data
  • SQL Edition and version differences with discontinued and deprecated features
  • Upgrade process.
  • Storage management techniques.
