Description

CPH is a multi-disciplined Engineering and Architectural design firm that ranks in the nation's Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine.

CPH has an opening for the following position: Mechanical Engineering Intern.The Mechanical Engineering Intern will learn engineering tasks working in collaboration with the design team to complement the academic knowledge gained during their course of study. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will perform routine quality engineering tasks using standard procedures under supervision by a Project Engineer.

Duties Include:
  • Working in collaboration with the design team to assist in preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations and construction documents.
  • Assist with preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to Agencies having jurisdiction.
  • Coordination withpermitting agencies, utility providers, contractors and other parties associated with the project.
  • Periodic travel to perform site investigations, and construction observation.
  • Review of specifications and shop drawings, field observations, preparation of inspection reports and other construction administration tasks.
  • Research, interpretation and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements.
  • Implementation and utilization of CPH and client standards and templates.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Good social, communication, written and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.

Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and/or working towards obtaining a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
