Knowledge of VA s Office of Community Care (OCC) EDI TAS program, software architectures, databases, web-based/mobile applications, enterprise IT solutions, and IT security requirements and standards
Prior VA OIT SDLC systems engineering experience leading activities for enterprise VA systems and improving the interoperability of VA s IT ecosystem, in accordance with SAFe practices
Bachelor s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline, or 8+ years of relevant work experience"
Preferred Skills:
Systems engineering lead experience with OCC EDI TAS
5+ years of prior work experience leading and orchestrating SDLC engineering related activities using Jira, system engineering plans and procedures
SAFe or SAFe for Government Certified
Able to acquire a U.S. Public Trust
"Position Responsibilities:
Lead systems engineering efforts, using scaled agile framework (SAFe) and operating in a VA OIT DevSecOps environment to facilitate streamlined performance of VA OIT s SDLC and delivery of IT enhancements/features
Ensure a consistent and scalable development methodology for scrum teams across VA product lines and IT products
Create detailed systems engineering plans in collaboration with organizational stakeholders and in compliance with VA/VA OIT policy
Develop and execute a systems engineering approach, monitoring for opportunities to enhance overall SDLC efficiency (e.g., use of automation) and VA OIT system interoperability
Proactively collaborate with product line managers, leads, and scrum teams to plan and execute key phases of VA OIT s SDLC, including data validation
Develop detailed data architectures and data maps illustrating data flows across VA product lines and IT products to enhance scrum team design/development efforts, including the standardization/normalization of VA OIT data
