Middleware Engineer WebLogic, RabbitMQ & Automation

Irvine, CA (Hybrid- 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Long Term Contract

Qualifications:

  • 14+ years of IT experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Middleware Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar role.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic Server (11g/12c) including domain creation, JDBC/Data Source management, and performance tuning.
  • Strong expertise in RabbitMQ (minimum 5 years), including message broker clustering, queue design, and monitoring.
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible (knowledge), Terraform (knowledge), Jenkins and scripting languages such as Bash, Shell.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog).
  • Understanding of security practices for middleware and messaging systems (e.g., SSL/TLS, authentication/authorization).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with MuleSoft
  • WebLogic Certified
  • Automation Knowledge (Ansible, Python, Shell scripting)

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and administer Oracle WebLogic Server environments including clustering, load balancing, and performance tuning.
  • Set up, manage, and monitor RabbitMQ messaging systems with a focus on availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for Oracle WebLogic and RabbitMQ environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server and application performance issues.
  • Deploy, configure, and tune WebLogic Server domains, managed servers, clusters, and data sources.
  • Manage RabbitMQ clusters, including configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts using Ansible, Terraform, Python, or Shell.
  • Automate middleware provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and patching processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve middleware-related issues in development, test, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to integrate middleware services into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure middleware systems meet business requirements for uptime, performance, and security.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of middleware architectures, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in capacity planning, architecture reviews, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Provide support during production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
