Company Description

Robert Bosch LLC seeks Sr Application Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI 48170. Monitor and perform dynamic vehicle testing, application and system engineering for the Bosch Electronic Stability Program (ESP), with a focus on Traction Control, Stability Control, and Added Value Functions (VAFs) such as Hill Hold Control (HHC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH), and Brake Disk Wipe (BDW) for JOEM customers as Toyota, Honda and Nissan (10%). Work with the performance development team on advanced safety systems, including brake modulators, electronic brake boosters, and future braking system configurations (10%). Involved in joint tuning of TCS and VDC functions with customer, which requires deep understanding of functions and ability to tune functions to meet customer subjective requirements (5%). Responsible for the validation of vehicle performance to Bosch and customer requirements and debugging of SW and parameters related to vehicle performance (5%). Work as VPL - Vehicle performance leader by integrating and coordinating a complete team of application engineers, coordinating vehicle availability and instrumentation, organizing of software project level structure (DCMs and parameters), archiving coordination, and providing review and support. Responsible for project meetings internal and external with customer/stakeholders. Work with Software interface, local support with compilation work (50%). Act as an expert responsible for Traction control and Powertrain with a deep level knowledge on the software/controls and interfaces. Conduct high performance tuning and calibration for special projects and modes. Support issues with calibration or software solutions and debug of software or vehicle interfaces (10%). Mentor associates for overall application role including parameter archiving, training (10%). Telecommuting: Hybrid, 2 days a week work from home. Travel Requirements: 10% Domestic Travel. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Plus 5 years of experience as Chassis Controls Engineer or occupation involving automotive system engineering. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Vehicle architecture and chassis control interfaces; (2) Vehicle performance driving (precise handling at physical limits with a "safety first" attitude); (3) Vehicle and system testing and release procedures in automotive or related industry; (4) JOEM customers (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, or Subaru); and (5) Electronic stability control (ABS, TCS or ESP ) and brake system/booster.
